アマンリゾート初のシティホテルである。地上１０階、地下１階建てのタワー型の建築の中で最も特徴的なのは、「ジャリ(Jaali)」と呼ばれるインドの伝統的なパターンを現代的にアレンジしたスクリーンである。昼間は強い陽射しから美しい影を床や壁面に映し出す。夜間には室内から漏れ出る温かな色温度の照明により美しいシルエットとなって浮かび上がらせている。時間の変化とともに反転する光環境をつくり出した。このジャリスクリーンによって下層階から上層階まで連続した伝統的なスクリーンがモダンな建築の外観を演出している。

The very first city hotel for Aman Resorts, Aman New Delhi, is a tower building of 10-story height. The most distinctive feature of the hotel architecture is the modern arrangement of a traditional Indian pattern called “Jaali” screen. Jaali screen was a key for lighting design as well. Jaali screens cast its shadows of beautiful patterns when receiving strong sunlight at daytime, and contrary, the screen patterns are revealed in silhouette by seeing interior illuminated with the warm color lighting. Jaali, the beautiful architectural element, we created the Illuminated environment that reverses the hotel appearance in a passage of time. The Jaali screens are used as building skin, from bottom to the top continuously, and create an elegant and modern appearance.
